The Art of Wearing Perfume
Fragrance FAQs
About Perfumes:
Perfume is a personal way to communicate one’s sensuality and attractiveness. It is an integral part of one’s personality as much as one’s type of skin, voice or smile. A special touch of fragrance can make an unforgettable impression on others.
Fragrances are comprised of many different scents, these scents are called "notes."
Top notes are very light and last just a few minutes (5-10 minutes).
Middle notes become apparent in about 15 minutes after application.
These can last up to an hour or more.
Bottom notes are the heavier ingredients. These last the longest, usually for several hours.

The Art of Wearing Perfume:
Perfume is most effective when applied with a spray. The atomizer diffuses the alcohol,
and the true fragrance clings to your skin.
Never try more than 3 fragrances at a time when looking for a new fragrance. Otherwise
your nose will lose its ability to tell the difference and the true scent of the fragrance may
not be enjoyed.
Always apply perfume on your pulse points…behind the ears, the inside wrists, inside the
crook of the arms, at the temples, at the base of the throat, at the bosom, and behind the
knees. The heat of the body will help to accentuate the fragrance.
Blends of floral and citrus-based fragrances are recommended for casual and daywear.
Spicy, woody or warm amber-based fragrances are traditionally favorites for evening and
special occasions.
Perfume lasts longer on some people than on others because of differences in our skin
(oily or dry) and in our PH levels. To achieve a longer effect, try the layering technique.
Using the fragrance bath gel, (if the company offers one), then the moisturizer or powder,
and then the Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum or Eau de Cologne, will usually have a longer
lasting effect.
Men’s Cologne will generally last much longer than After Shave. However, many men choose
to wear both. The fragrance lasts longer, you can use less of each, and you get the facial
benefit of an After Shave.
